If there's anything cuter than a high ponytail, it's one that features bouncy curls, as proved by Cheryl Fernandez-Versini or Cole, as you might remember her : Sophisticated it is not—which is why this is a perfect weekend hairstyle. It's springy and fun and adorable. Basically, it's a good time in a hairstyle. And all you have to do is curl your hair and then pull it up really really high on your head. Want more ponytail inspiration?
Check out this cute one featured in this episode of Elevator Makeover:. The big beauty news from the weekend besides Kaley Cuoco chopping her hair into a pixie cut is that three stars went out with new hair colors. Which one of these three do you think is the best change?
The wind seemed to follow Cheryl Cole on the Foxcatcher red carpet in Cannes in the most perfect way to blow her dress and hair around in the most breathtaking way, almost like she was controlling it. Yes, clearly, these pictures prove that Cheryl Cole has control over elements. Have you seen anything more stunning than those tendrils in the front picking up in the wind—especially with that dress swirling in the first picture? I'm sure her hairstylist, Lisa Laudat, had a little bit of a heart attack for a second, worrying that the updo would come down, but it really turned out to be one of the most stunning walks in Cannes history.
Anyone else feeling envious here? I know, I know—a lot of you guys are over braids. But apparently in Cannes this year, hairstylists were feeling differently because they not only used braids in the stars' hairstyles at the filmfFestival, they used them like no one's business. You might remember us discussing Zoe Saldana's headband braid and Nicole Kidman's cool updo, but those weren't the only braid sightings. Like Zoe, Ahna O'Reilly went for an across-the-head one at the As I Lay Dying premiere: Milla Jovovich jumped on the same train later as well: Rosario Dawson went all Heidi on us: And Cheryl Cole mixed things up with a very, very loose one that was tied in multiple places: OK, sure, we've seen all these hairstyles before—and last year everyone pretty much wore them out.
But you've got to admit, they're still quite lovely. So maybe it's not quite time to retire the braid trend totally. Maybe it's a better idea to, you know, dial them back a notch so they seem a bit more special when you spot one.
Good plan? What do you guys think? Oh, of course these shots of Cheryl Cole come from the set of a hair commercial. Of course they do. By India-Jewel Jackson. Oh, Daily Mail. You guys tickle me with your hilarious hypotheticals and statistics stories.
